Yoga for Menopause
The menopause transition can be a time of huge upheaval — and also a powerful initiation into a new phase of womanhood. Fluctuating hormones during perimenopause can affect physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and bring a wide range of often confusing symptoms. It is a potent time of change, one that benefits greatly from support, clear information, and practices that help restore balance.
Yoga for Menopause offers a safe, supportive space — a place to land — where you can steady yourself and navigate this transition with greater ease. This stage is not simply something to endure; it is often described as a woman’s second spring, an emergence into greater clarity, strength, and embodied wisdom.
What is Yoga for Menopause?
Yoga for Menopause is a practice created to support women through perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause. It recognises that the hormonal changes at this time influence sleep, energy, mood, cognition, muscles, bones, joints, and the nervous system. And that our yoga needs to be adapted to be more beneficial during this stage of life.
The practice works with change rather than pushing against it, supporting strength and steadiness while also allowing space for deep rest and restoration.
Understanding the Transition
The menopausal transition is not a single event, but a process that unfolds over time. Hormonal changes often begin subtly, become more noticeable and fluctuating during perimenopause, and then settle in postmenopause. Each stage brings different experiences, and this practice is designed to support you wherever you are in that journey.
Why a Menopause-Specific Practice?
Women may experience symptoms such as disrupted sleep, fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, joint discomfort, hot flushes, or changes in mood and resilience. A full list of menopause-related symptoms can be found here.
Yoga for Menopause supports the nervous system and the changing body, helping maintain strength, mobility, and supporting emotional balance through this transition. Yoga for Menopause also supports brain health, helping with memory, focus, and mental clarity through mindful movement, balance, and new learning.
What the Sessions Include
• a sharing circle to connect, be heard, and feel understood
• practical education relevant to menopause
• gentle, functional yoga postures
• restorative and supported poses
• calming, grounding pranayama
• Yoga Nidra for deep, profound rest
Everything is offered with choice, care, and respect for your energy and needs on the day.
